Hey all, my name is Tim Ismiliaev; I’m a co-founder and technical lead at Apostro - https://www.apostro.xyz/, a DeFi risk management and cybersecurity platform. I have an extensive background in cybersecurity and finance allowing us to create new security solutions for the crypto market.
At the beginning of my career, I spent 2 years as a project manager of large-scale projects overseeing the implementation of automated traffic systems in the top 10 congested cities in the world, leading big teams with over $40mn budgets. My leadership and technical skills were crucial in shipping the system in short timeframes and bringing over 7 digits in revenue.
My next big challenge came during the 5 years I spent as a CTO and adviser at a machine-learning focussed crypto fund. I led a cross-functional team of quants, data scientists and developers, with our work resulting in an API-based algorithmic rebalancing product, currently standing at $150mn AuM. As a part of my work there, I developed a proprietary trading system, automated back-and-forward testing of trading strategies, built a data aggregation layer to decrease external dependencies, and delivered an automated risk management system with real-time tracking, which identified and resolved several instances of in-house trader fraud.
All this experience is now used as stepping stones for Apostro, a risk management platform for DeFi protocols. In less than half a year, we delivered an MVP showing how one can protect and preempt exploits before they happen, started to sign up clients and work on custom security solutions, and shipped open analytical dashboards with statistics on hacks.
